After resetting the password on Cisco Router, it goes back to default settings.

If you have reset the Cisco router password using the register, everytime you start the router, it may come to the default setting. To correct this issue, you have to make sure that the router’s register is set for 0×2102 rather than 0×2142. To change the setting from the enabled mode, type config-register 0×2102. Hope this helps.
