How to configure netflow and top talker in Cisco Router

Netflow is a tool in Cisco router to track traffic in and out of a router. It can be configured easily from the terminal configuration mode by the following command.

ip flow-top-talkers
 top 50
 sort-by bytes
 cache-timeout 30000

The next requirement is to enable the interface you want to track by implementing the following. In this example, let’s assume that we need to track FastEthernet 0/1 interface.

Config t
interface FastEthernet0/1
ip flow ingress
ip flow egress

That’s it…. To see if it is working. enter the following command.

Sho ip flow top-talkers
sho ip cache flow
