MX Record Lookup from a command prompt

1. Open up a command prompt

2.¬†Enter “nslookup” and hit enter

3. Enter “Set type=mx” and hit enter

4. domain name “whatever.com”

That will show you what the MX record of a domain is. This can be a great troubleshooting tool to determine whether the email issue is related to DNS or MX records or various other possibilities.
